Four Ways to Use Honey for Oily Skin

Here are ways to use honey for oily skin:

As a Moisturizer

The humectant properties of honey make it a better alternative to store-bought moisturizers. You can apply honey your face and leave it on for ten minutes. Then, rinse it off with warm water to keep the moisture and retain the essential oils in the skin.

As an Exfoliator

If you have oily skin, you need to scrub your skin to eliminate excessive oil and dirt from the pores. You can use honey as a natural exfoliator. Mixing it with baking soda produces a gentle scrub for oily skin. Use the scrub once or twice a week. Also, you can use a tablespoon of honey and mix it with two tablespoons of ground almond and half a teaspoon of lemon juice to get the best scrubs. Rub the mixture gently on your skin and wash it off with lukewarm water.

As an Acne Treatment

Oily skin can experience sudden breakouts. You can use honey to pacify the unsightly pimples because it has antibacterial properties that help fight acne.

Apply honey over your pimples and leave it overnight. It can also effectively treat blemishes. You can also use a face pack that contains one tablespoon of each of honey, turmeric powder, and milk mixed together with half a tablespoon of lemon. Apply the concoction on your face and let it rest for around 30 minutes before washing it off.

As a Pore Cleanser

Clogged pores are one of the main issues associated with oily skin. Excessive oil, makeup residues, and dirt result in clogged pores. Honey can be mixed with oatmeal to create a perfect scrub to cleanse your pores. Apply the mask once every week to clear those dead cells and offers your skin the rejuvenation it deserves.
