There is absolutely no doubt that you as an Australian military veteran have had a pretty tough life and you have experienced things that many of us will never see. There are others who have never seen combat experience but this doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t receive the necessary support that they need because they did step up to the line when Australia needed them. There is support currently available to you if you are indeed a veteran and this includes both physical and mental health issues.

It is only right that veteran medical benefits are available to you if you are someone who signed up to be in the Australian Defence Force which includes the army, then navy, the Air Force and even the reserves. You need to register for services that are provided to you and so you need to be aware of what access that you can gain to health and mental support. There are a number of mental health training programs available to all, as well as accommodation support should you need it.

  • Pensions & payments – If life is turning out to be financially difficult for you then there are service pensions available to you based on how old you are and if you have some kind of disability. You can also get financial support to help you if you are unable to work for a number of hours every week and the good news is that your payment can also be made to your partner.
