Learning About CBD And Hemp: Entourage Effect And More

Hemp is the least processed version of the cannabis plant and contains a bunch of compounds, together known as cannabinoids. Besides these cannabinoids, hemp also contains flavonoids, terpenes and other compounds. Among all compounds, THC and CBD are the two most important ones, and research has shown that these two cannabinoids may have some use in treatment of various health issues and could be used for therapeutic benefits. THC is the only compound that’s psychoactive, and in hemp, the amount of THC is minimal. CBD, on the other hand, doesn’t cause a ‘high’ but is useful.

The entourage effect described

If you check for known brands like FluxxLab CBD, you will realize that there are two category of products – isolates and full-spectrum. Isolate CBD products contain nothing but CBD, and for some users, isolates are beneficial and have been used in many ways. However, researchers and other users are interested in the combined effect ofcannabinoids, which is called the entourage effect. These cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes work with the endocannabinoid system, and while CBD still remains important and relevant, other compounds are being researched on.

Other things to know

Numerous studies have revealed that hemp contains over a hundred cannabinoids, while the exact number is still not known. Some of the cannabinoids are present in low levels in selected strains. Hemp is mainly desirable for CBD content, and industrial hemp hardly contains any THC. It should be noted that hemp& CBD products are considered legal in most states in the US, as long as the THC content is less than 0.3%. Industrial hemp is actually grown this way. Entourage effect is produced by cannabinoids that are present in high levels, and besides CBD, the list includes CBDA, THCA, and CBC.

Buying hemp & CBD products

If you are interested in buying hemp and CBD products, we recommend that you check the contents and label carefully. For new users, full-spectrum hemp products may be more beneficial than CBD isolates, but as you buy and experiment with new products, you will find what works best for you. Go for a brand that you can trust, and don’t forget to use hemp products as recommended. Tinctures are your best bet for immediate results, but you can also check for topicals and other products like oils.

Don’t compromise on the quality of hemp products you buy, to get the best out of what’s called the entourage effect.
